If we are talking old school, I’m going back in time for this one. Ogilvy on Advertising was mandatory reading when I worked at Ogilvy and Mather in the late 80s, and it is still the best intro to the basic theories of advertising. Background on layout? Copywriting? Market Research? Check, check and check, And the ads from the 60s are just too groovy for words.
